i have my first interview for a practice nurse post next week. being only recentply qualified this(understandably) has been keeping me awake at night.can anyone giveme some advice and tips on what i might expect?

Jean Curry, from Northumberland, says: 'I would advise her to look at the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and how she would be involved, also chronic disease management, I would also go the surgery and meet with current practice nurses and chat to them about the practice needs, also be ready to speak about team work.'

You are likely to be asked about time management, teamworking, how you deal with stress.  You need to know about QOF (quality outcomes frameworks) as GP's will want their practice nurses to help achieve these to help boost their finances.  Write a list of all your strengths and weaknesses (try to turn the weaknesses into positives) and all your experiences to date as these will help you answer lots of questions.  The hardest interviews I have ever been to have asked me to describe situations eg. tell me about a time when you disagreed with a manager....tell me about a mistake you have made.... etc.  They are unlikely to ask you anything too tough, but it is best to be prepared.  There are loads of interview questions you can find online if you google interview questions practice nursing.  Good luck.
