GPs 'share blame' for ISTCs' failure

GPs share the blame for the failure of the Independent Sector Treatment Centre (ISTC) because they did not refer enough patients, according to a business lobby group.

The GMC may have something to say about payment for referrals.

Now why does'nt that surprise me? If I dont want to shop at ASDA, it sounds stupid and obvious to say that, business is bad as I dont go there. It appears even more stupid to say that, I tell other people not to go there. Worse still, it implies that I am telling people not to go there. Or, am I missing the point ? Is the business saying, I am paying people not to go there ? Wake up ! We send patients to where they get a good reliable service. Getting money's worth out of ISTCs is not our prime robotic objective. That I thought was the prerogative of the DoH. Funnily enough, they dont care as it is our money (taxpayer) that they are throwing away.
