Re: RE: Nurses ignored in negotiations on opening hours

Not that long ago Drs were working from friday morning right through to monday evening as well as at least one overnight duty per week on top of normal day surgery hours. NO enhanced hours there just dangerously tired Dr's.

Not Many Practices really want to do this but their hand is being forced by an enormous financial stick. Unless they play ball they stand to lose large amounts of practice funding.

I doubt that the nurses will be asked to do extra hours and if so the GP's are just playing into the Govt's hands.

    Hello all

Independent Nurse is running another survey on extended hours and the impact it is having on practice nurses. Many practices are now offering extended opening hours and we want to find out whether nurses are working extra hours and, if so, whether they are being paid more to do so.

You could win £50 of M&S vouchers by completing the survey. To take part, click here:

    Thanks

Don't worry- GPs were  ignored too. Quite a few of us are NOT going to do it, or if we do, we shall be staggering the hours. The average PCT won't be able to tell the difference since they have no right to know the original opening hours of the practice.

    John I guess?
