Students handed 'nurse' qualifications that fail NMC standard

Further education establishments in England are handing out qualifications to students that include the title 'nurse' or 'midwife', although they do not meet standards required for registration in either profession.

I am outraged by this. There must be something that the government could do as this undermines our profession even further. Its bad enough that care assisstants feel that they can call themselves nurses

This is shocking, and will lead the profession into disrepute - where are the RCN and Unison when you need them?

This is absolute rubbish we (nurses and midwives) spend so many years working to the bones to get our qualifications and these univeersities are allowed to do what they want. They need to be stopped. RCN and RCM where are you?

I am appalled at this. This surely merits further investigation and action from the NMC. This is  bringing the nursing profession into disrepute.
