GPs are ignoring NICE recommendations on statins because of concerns about tolerability of high-dose simvastatin, a survey suggests.

The question is not so much what GPs think but what patients think having been presented with the evidence. This item does not seem to recognise that the person doing the switching of their medication is the patient and that the views of their doctors are only of secondary importance.
