Almost half of nurses (48%) have been accidentally stabbed by a needle that had previously been used on a patient, according to the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).

I am a mentor for pre-reg students, and have great concerns that the new nurses of tomorrow have no idea how to deal with a needle stick injuries. From my information from some student nurses, the universities are not giving appropriate advice and support to ensure that the students have more awareness to prevent lethal consequences.
