GPs 'won't work in polyclinics offering abortions'

A quarter of all GPs could refuse to work in polyclinics if the DoH pushes ahead with plans to offer abortions in the community, the chairman of the Christian Medical Fellowship has warned.

RE: GPs 'won't work in polyclinics offering abortions'

I think that making abortions more accessible and easy will encourage women to see this as another form of contraceptive rather than using long-term methods. I am also concerned that, as a practice nurse, I will have little option. When returning to nursing following a 4 year career break to have my own children, I applied for a post in Gynae outpatients. I was not successful because, as a Christian, unwilling to participate in abortions, I would not be able to carry out my share of the workload on the nursing team.
